Dr. Kathryn Harley

Dr. Kathryn Harley graduated from Guy’s Hospital Dental School, University of London in 1981. She completed her Masters degree in Conservative Dentistry at the Eastman in 1986 where she was appointed Consultant and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Paediatric Dentistry in 1991. This appointment allowed her to pursue her special interest in the restorative management of Dental Anomalies. In September 1999 she took up the post of Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry at the Edinburgh Dental Institute where she is Head of Department and has been able to continue looking after the restorative needs of children.

In June 2010 Kathryn completed 10 years as a member of the Board of Dental Protection Limited where she had been Chairman 2006 – 2010. Following the recent elections of the Board of the Dental Faculty of the Royal College of Surgeons of England Kathryn was elected Dean of the Dental Faculty an appointment she is due to commence in June 2011. She has been actively involved in education at the College for many years having been the Robert Bradlaw Adviser 1996 – 2000 and is currently Chairman of the Postgraduate Education Committee.
