Saturday); and up to 8.5 CEs with Hands-on courses (Wednesday-Thursday).

Dr. Heymann is past Chair and Graduate Program Director of the Department of Operative Dentistry and currently is the Thomas P. Hinman Distinguished Professor of Operative Dentistry at the UNC School of Dentistry. Dr. Heymann has been particularly active in the clinical research of esthetic restorative materials and is the author of over 200 scientific publications.
He is a member of the Academy of Operative Dentistry, the International Association of Dental Research, and is Past-President and a Fellow of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. He is also a Fellow in the International College of Dentists, the American College of Dentists, and the Academy of Dental Materials. He also serves as a consultant to the ADA. Dr. Heymann also is Co-Senior Editor of The Art and Science of Operative Dentistry, historically, the #1 selling dental textbook in the world.

Dr. Heymann is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Heymann has given over 1,400 lectures on various aspects of esthetic dentistry worldwide and has received the Gordon J. Christensen Award for excellence as a CE speaker.

Dr. Massad, DDS is an internationally renowned clinician in the field of prosthodontics.  He has lectured literally around the world.  Named one of the top clinicians in CE for 2000-2009 by Dentistry Today, and recipient of the 2006 Chicago Dental Society “Gordon J. Christensen Recognition Lecturer Award.”  Massad regularly lectures at meetings of dental organizations such as the American Prosthodontic Society, the American Dental Association, the Canadian Dental Association, the Federation Dentaire International, and the Portuguese Dental Association.

A graduate of the Loyola University School of Dentistry, Massad has published scientific articles in publications such as the International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry, Compendium of Continuing Dental Education, Dentistry Today, Dental Economics, The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry and others.

Massad served as Director of Removable Prosthodontics at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry in Arizona from 2006 – 2009 and from 1992-2003 as associate professor at the Pankey Institute in Florida and holds faculty positions at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, the University of Texas Dental School at San Antonio, and the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.  Dr. Massad is a follow of the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists and Regent of the International Academy for Dental Facial Esthetics.

Dr. Yepes DDS, MD, MPH, MS, DrPH is an associate professor in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis, Indiana. Juan F. is a dentist (DDS) and a physician (MD) from Javeriana University at Bogota, Colombia. In 1999, Juan F. moved to the USA and attended the University of Iowa and the University of Pennsylvania where he completed a fellowship and residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and Oral Medicine respectively in 2002 and 2004. In 2006, Juan F. completed a Master in Public Health (MPH), and in 2011 a Doctoral Degree in Public Health (DrPH) both with emphasis in Epidemiology at the University of Kentucky College of Public Health. In 2008, Juan F. completed a residency program in Dental Public Health at University of Texas, Baylor College of Dentistry. Finally, Juan F. completed the residency program and Masters of Science degree in pediatric dentistry at the University of Kentucky in 2012.

Juan F. is Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Medicine, American Board of Dental Public Health, and American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Juan F. was the section head of oral and maxillofacial radiology at the University of Kentucky for 6 years (2004 to 2009). Juan F. is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Academy of Oral Medicine, American Medical Association, Hispanic Dental Association, American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, American Association of Public Health Dentistry, International Association of Dental Research, International Association of Dentomaxillo-Facial Radiology, and American Dental Association. Juan F. is a fellow in dental surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons at Edinburgh, Scotland. Juan F. is in the editorial board of Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology and Pediatric Dentistry. Finally, Juan F. research and teaching interest are in the area of oral medicine, oral radiology and oral pathology in children

Dr. Edwards earned both his DDS and PhD degrees from Loma Linda University in Southern California, and completed his Postdoctoral training at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Edwards began his academic career as an Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Physiology/Pharmacology, School of Medicine at Loma Linda University. In this capacity, he taught medical and graduate students, as well as conducted research on a novel imidazoline receptor that is involved in regulating blood pressure and sensitivity of target tissues to insulin. After four years, Dr. Edwards relocated to the School of Dentistry, where he continued to teach Pharmacology to both Dental and Medical students. After four years, he graduated with his DDS degree and continued his teaching and research activities. Dr. Edwards joined the faculty of the University of Texas Health Sciences Center, School of Dentistry at Houston, where he currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Dept. of Diagnostic and Biomedical Sciences.

Dr. Edwards has a lab located in the Craniofacial Research Center, where he continues to study imidazoline compounds as novel treatments for metabolic diseases such as type 2 diabetes. In addition, his lab also focuses on the role of a novel Parotid Hormone in regulating calcium homeostasis and fluid flow in odontoblasts, and insulin regulation in beta cells. Regulation of fluid flow in odontoblasts has implication for tooth decay, since Inhibition of fluid flow through teeth may renders it more susceptible to decay. Dr. Edwards has received many honors throughout his career and has an equally impressive record of service, having served as Secretary, Chair-elect and Chair of the American Dental Education Association (ADEA) Section on Physiology, Pharmacology and Therapeutics. He is the current Secretary of ADEA Section on Oral Diagnosis and Oral Medicine. Dr. Edwards is one of only five individuals who serve on the American Dental Association (ADA) Biochemistry / Physiology Test Construction Committee and is also a member of the Pharmacology Test Construction Committee.

Dr. Edwards has been an invited speaker and presenter at international, national and local meetings. He holds membership in several organizations and he currently serves on the editorial board of two journals, and is a reviewer for many others. He has an élan for serving others, and so for many years he has led teams of dental students, faculty and other dentists to volunteer their time in service to the people of Central Jamaica. He has also participated in outreach dental activities in the United States as well. Dr. Edwards is married to wife Sandra, and together they have three children Alex, Ross-Andre and Alexa. Dr. Edwards enjoys gardening, playing soccer and table tennis in his leisure time. He credits his successes to his walk with the Lord.

Dr. Nallapati obtained his dental degree from the Govt. Dental College and Hospital, Hyderabad, India. Dr. Nallapati practiced general dentistry in Ocho Rios, Jamaica from 1996 through 2004. During that time his practice was focused in Endodontics. His practice was the first to use Surgical Operating Microscope in Dentistry in Jamaica in 2001. Dr. Nallapati completed his post graduate training in the specialty of Endodontics from Nova Southeastern University (NSU), Davie, Florida, USA in 2006 where he received the Dean’s award for the outstanding presentation by a resident. After his graduation, he chose to come back to Jamaica and set up a quality centered endodontic practice in Kingston, Jamaica.

He is a member of Jamaica Dental Association.  He is a founding member and a past president of the International Academy of Endodontics (IAE).  He serves on the faculty of Nova Southeastern University, college of dentistry as a visiting associate professor in the dept. of Endodontics where he teaches post graduate residents. Dr. Nallapati is also an adjunct lecturer and course leader for endodontics at the University of the West Indies, school for dental medicine, Kingston, Jamaica. Dr. Nallapati served on the Dental Council of Jamaica and the examination board.  Dr. Nallapati chaired the Jamaica Dental Association, 44th Annual Convention in 2008 and the 52nd Annual Convention in 2016. He is the founder of Kingston Study Club (KSC), the first study club in dentistry in Jamaica with a mission to promote interdisciplinary approach to Dentistry. KSC organizes continuing education courses for members of Jamaica Dental Association by bringing world renowned clinicians to the shores of Jamaica.

In 2014, Dr. Nallapati was awarded the prestigious Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award by Nova Southeastern University. It is the highest honor NSU confers upon its graduates. Dr. Nallapati authored several clinical articles that were published in both peer-reviewed and clinical journals. He is a contributing author to 2 text books (Grossman’s Endodontic Practice, 12th edition, Best Practices in Endodontics, 1st edition). Dr. Nallapati is a renowned speaker in Endodontics internationally. He has been invited to speak in various endodontic seminars in 16 countries to date. His hobbies include running, hiking, mountain biking, and reading.

DR. BETHANY VALACHI, DPT, MS, CEAS is author of the book, “Practice Dentistry Pain-Free” and clinical instructor of ergonomics at OHSU School of Dentistry in Portland, Oregon, USA.  Recognized internationally as an expert in dental ergonomics, she has helped thousands of dental professionals prevent pain and extend their careers with her current, evidence-based dental ergonomic education. Dr. Valachi has published more than 50 articles in peer-reviewed dental journals and offers dental ergonomic educational materials on her website at www.posturedontics.com.

Dr. RAMOS,  graduated in dentistry in 1987 in Brazil, then soon after received a scholarship to study in Japan. Back in Brazil, he finished his residency in endodontics in 1990. From 1991 to 1993 he attended the master’s program in endodontics, receiving a Master of Science degree and began the PhD program in endodontics, completing it in 1997, the same year he published his first book. From 1995 to 2012, as professor of endodontics at the State University of Londrina, he coordinated the endodontics sector. In this meantime, he published more three books and wrote more than a dozen chapters of other endodontics books. Prof. Ramos is currently a partial time adjunct professor at Roseman University in Salt Lake City, Utah, and the R/D Endodontic manager at Ultradent. He was granted two international patents as the inventor of a electronic working length determination method and a asymmetric reciprocation system, both of which have brought different devices to the world marketplace that use these patented technologies. He performs many lectures, hands-on workshops, and conferences worldwide each year, having visited over 40 countries. All this has been accomplished while working part-time exclusively as an endodontic specialist at his private office from 1987 to 2012.
